Reflexology for Pain Management

Reflexology can be used to help support a large number of clients with painful conditions. Stiffness, sciatica, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, frozen shoulder, whiplash and sports injuries are some of the conditions that can respond well to treatment.
Whether you are suffering from pain in the back, shoulder, knees or neck pain. During treatment direct pressure applied to reflex points on the feet can interrupt sensory transmission and confuse the nervous system so pain is not perceived in the same way. Reflexology also encourages the production of endorphins, our body’s natural painkillers.
As well as pain relief, reflexology can also reduce inflammation helping to ease muscular pain caused by overstretching or injury. This helps to improve blood supply to the effected area, which in turn may improve range of movement.
Reflexology does not claim to diagnose or cure medical conditions, it can, however, facilitate the body’s own healing processes which may bring relief from symptoms of many conditions.
