Reflexology for Stress & Anxiety

Stressed Woman

We all know what it's like to feel stressed, but it's not easy define what stress means.

Stress is defined as:

“a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances.”

Most people experience stress from time to time in their everyday life.  When this stress is not dealt with and allowed to continue over a period of time it can have a negative effect on our health.

The nervous system responds by releasiing stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which get the body ready for emergency action, blood pressure rises, the heart beats faster and senses become sharper.  Living in this heightened state of anxiety all the time can take its toll, affecting various aspects of life and often leading to migraines, insomnia, anxiety attacks or digestive problems.

At Little Leaf, treatments are aimed at helping to reduce stress levels.  They relax the body and mind, increase the release of endorphins, boost the immune system and help return the body back into a state of balance. Regular treatments allow you some well-deserved time out to relax and unwind.

Reflexology does not claim to diagnose or cure medical conditions, it can, however, facilitate the body’s own healing processes which may bring relief from symptoms of many conditions.
